Limited Prep - Alternate Rocker Arms

Biggest advantage is keeping your base circle larger, allowing you to keep the shaft thickness, and making the cam a lot stiffer. Imagine what a wet noodle the cam is in something like a Triumph TR6 or a Datsun I6.

Limited Prep - Alternate Rocker Arms

That’s for the rocker, not the lifter. So lifter has to be the same type, but rocker can change from a non roller to roller tip, thus allowing aftermarket rockers. You’ve always been able to convert a hydraulic lifter to solid though. There are two seperate paragraphs there pointing to...

Limited Prep - Alternate Rocker Arms

Type for the cam, means you can’t go from solid flat tappet to a roller tappet. Rules do state you can go from a hydraulic to a solid of the same type (ie: hydraulic flat tapper > solid flat tappet, hydraulic roller > solid roller). But you cannot change from a flat tappet to a roller. Remember...

Two images, same car, 53 years apart

Top is Dick Stockton in his Triumph TR4 leading a Lotus Super Seven at the defunct Vineland Speedway. Dick raced this car in 1964 and 1965, with a Glen 500 win (co-driving with Bob Tullius), a ARRC pole and race leader until overdrive failure (5th place finish). Buzz Marcus then raced this car...

    Prisma photo app

I finally downloaded Prisma, which is a free phone app that turns photos into 'art'. For those not following along, this is kind of 'the' photo app of the summer. Spent about a hour applying it to old and new racing photos. I use two other apps for sizing and I'll use Instagram to turn things...

    Race rebroadcast

In previous years with Speedcast, they put up the 'raw' unedited recordings of the races the next day. With this new format, are there any plans to do that? Thanks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6ATJ-5ZuHw Interesting to see the Porsche 356s outpull the MGBs... those cars handle great and are rockets off the corner. John O'Steen was the class of that field, great driving while it lasted.

SCCA National Production racing from the 1960s

Started scanning Dick Stockton's racing photo albums for an article a friend is doing. Lots of great photos of a front running effort in Northeast SCCA National racing during the 1960s to 1970 (TR4 and Cobra). There are also IMSA RS/Baby Grand photos too. This project is still a work in...
